Altec Window Shopping
Was in the mood to do a little ?window shopping? today---a few interesting Altecs out there but nothing I'm going to jump on.....
AMAZING: ALTEC model 19, Two speakers with 15" subs inside
If all original this could be a nice deal even though there's some surround goo dripping on at least one woofer--obviously would need better pics. Pano, you could have swum there from your old house--is this an old friend of yours? (I know those Islands aren't really as close as they look on the map).......
Altec-Lansing Pro Studio Monitors - Vintage in great condition-
This ad made me laugh. ?sold for $5000 in 1985? Um, I don't think so. ?shipped these to altec for a recone? Maybe he has a time machine or maybe he means GPA? (although he doesn't mention when he shipped them to Altec) He just says zero hours on them since the recone.... Then says he's been playing them at home since then?um, last I checked, those are still hours! Not too sure from the photo if that's the original woofer?hard to tell from that photo on my monitor..... His phone number is there but I'm not curious enough to ask him about exactly where and when that recone was done. Finally, a used set of speakers with a guarantee--?Come listen and i guarantee you'll buy them? !
ALTEC LANSING EQUIPMENT SALE
Truckload sale! Maybe a former Oklahoma Altec employee? Some cool stuff there and maybe he's willing to part stuff out separately? (has individual pricing per item--some of the individual prices look good) Not sure how many people want to spend $5000 for this Altec Mixed Chocolate Assortment......
Altec Voice of the Theatre VOTT A7 speakers - Canuck Audio Mart
Some nice pics (click for full size) but too pricey for me.... (wish he had pics of the woofers) BTW, what's wrong with this picture?

Actually a lot of this equipment he is asking Top Dollar for used equipment with no pictures,no idea what condition.
With auctions this vague you really need to sell at a deal to get some bites ! I mean $5 grand right after Christmas, with no pictures just an itemized list.
I personally feel you need to give prospective buyers lots of High Res. Pictures, then the equipment will sell itself if in good cond.

All of the above! Not to mention, in pic. 2, the horns are less than a foot apart--pointed right at each other. I'm sure it's just a "pose" for the pic, but still couldn't help cringing--put some power through them in that position and you'd blow both diaphragms. They're in self destruct mode--in his next pic instead of having one horn pointed right into the throat of the other horn, maybe he could have a sharp stick pointing right at one of the woofers......

I couldn't agree more. As I said in my post---"Not sure how many people want to spend $5000 for this Altec Mixed Chocolate Assortment......" As you mentioned--with no photos and just a long list--he's making it even more unlikely he'll get five grand.
And yes, much of it is no bargain but "some of the individual prices look good"
If I lived in Hawaii, I'd give those Model 19's a listen for $500 though (after I finished a full day of surfing). I bet Don Ho sounds great on those things.....

Hah :-) Well good to know I still have some photo-hunt abilities.
Also for window shopping, and not seen much IME, 9264A on 'bay.
What a cache(!) that seller (still) has.
